Olivia Wilde Seemingly Addresses Those Salad-Dressing Rumours on Instagram

Jason Sudeikis and Olivia Wilde's former nanny made headlines when she told stories allegedly detailing the final moments working with the couple and the beginning of Wilde's relationship with Harry Styles in a 17 Oct. Daily Mail article. The former couple shut down the claims, calling them "false" in an 18 Oct. joint statement. However, the same night, Wilde made a cryptic post on her Instagram Story that seemingly addressed one of the most buzzed-about details from their former employee's claims.

But let's rewind for a moment: Wilde and Sudeikis say there is no truth to their former nanny's claims in the Daily Mail, alleging that this nanny has been harassing their family for quite some time. "As parents, it is incredibly upsetting to learn that a former nanny of our two young children would choose to make such false and scurrilous accusations about us publicly," reps for the former couple said in a statement to POPSUGAR, referencing their two kids, Daisy, 5, and Otis, 8. "Her now 18-month-long campaign of harassing us, as well as loved ones, close friends, and colleagues, has reached its unfortunate apex. We will continue to focus on raising and protecting our children with the sincere hope that she will now choose to leave our family alone."

Most of the nanny's claims revolved around Sudeikis's reaction to Wilde's budding romance with Styles, calling Sudeikis "out of control," "brokenhearted," and essentially desperate to win Wilde back. However, they also include screenshots of texts between Wilde, Sudeikis, and the nanny, which appear to suggest Sudeikis fired her after he discovered she had been texting Wilde. The nanny also alleges Sudeikis had a drinking habit and that Wilde feared Sudeikis.

Of all the nanny's stories, one in particular stood out to readers. It involved a late-night rendezvous, a heated argument, and . . . a special salad dressing? According to the nanny, Sudeikis spoke candidly about Wilde leaving him to be with Styles, saying, "She made this salad, and she made her special dressing, and she's leaving with her salad to have dinner with [Harry]." The nanny claims Sudeikis threw himself under Wilde's car to prevent her from leaving with the salad.

Although this is one of the "scurrilous accusations" the couple recently denied, Wilde may have unwittingly fanned the rumour mill when she posted a photo of a salad-dressing recipe taken from a page in Nora Ephron's novel "Heartburn" to her Instagram Story on 18 Oct.

It's unclear what, exactly, Wilde meant by her post, and Wilde's rep did not immediately respond to POPSUGAR's request for comment. Although it doesn't give credibility to the nanny's statements, Wilde posting the simple French vinaigrette recipe — made up of Grey Poupon mustard, olive oil, and red wine vinegar (which we ended up trying) — could indicate she's aware of the speculation surrounding her relationships. We're just unsure if she's laughing at or with us.
