Markle and Chopra Jonas met in 2016 at the Elle Women in Television Dinner and quickly became friends. While Chopra Jonas attended the royal wedding in 2018, Markle wasn't able to attend her friend's nuptials to Nick Jonas a few months later thanks in part to Markle's pregnancy at the time. Rumours flew that the pair had fallen out, but in 2021 Chopra Jonas posted a sweet birthday message in honour of her friend on Instagram.
