Stephen King released the long-awaited follow-up to The Shining in 2013, titled Doctor Sleep. Now, the horror novel has been adapted into an equally-chilling film starring Ewan McGregor as an adult Danny Torrance, who you can catch a glimpse of in the trailer, above.
Even though Danny is all grown up, he's obviously still a little shaken by everything that went down at the Overlook Hotel all those years ago with his father. Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it), he still has his "shine," which he needs to fight a child-killing cult called the True Knot. The top-hat-wearing cult leader (Rebecca Ferguson) is after one young girl in particular, the evanescent Abra Stone, who has a "shining" so powerfully spectacular, she becomes the True Knot's main target.
Together, Danny and Abra begin a battle for the latter's soul as an epic war between good and evil rages on, all culminating at the place where everything began: the Overlook. Director Mike Flanagan helmed the film, which is due out on Oct. 31, so check out the trailer above and teaser ahead to prepare for the spooky new adventure. Then take a peek at all the other horror films on the way this year.
