1 Is Riley Keough Really Singing in "Daisy Jones & the Six?"

Keough, who plays the leading role of Daisy Jones, is really singing on the show, which isn't surprising considering she comes from a famous musical background. Her father is the musician Danny Keough, while her mother was singer-songwriter Lisa Marie Presley. Yes, that makes her the granddaughter of Elvis Presley. Although she's been surrounded by music all her life, Keough actually showed off her vocal chops for the first time on camera while filming "Daisy Jones & The Six."

While appearing on "Live with Kelly and Ryan," Keough revealed her performance as Daisy Jones marked the first time she sang publicly. "I knew that I wasn't entirely tone-deaf and everything, but I never tried to properly sing before, so it was a journey," she said about bringing the character to life.

2 Is Sam Claflin Really Singing in "Daisy Jones & the Six?"

Claflin didn't have much musical experience before being cast as The Six's frontman Billy Dunne, so he had to learn how to sing and play guitar for the role. "I was fucking petrified," Claflin told Variety about beginning his music lessons. "Right from the fucking beginning, sh*t scared. I remember my first guitar lesson, going, 'What the hell? How am I going to be singing whilst doing this, whilst also moving around?'"

The cast was initially supposed to receive five weeks of musical training in person, but due to the pandemic, their lessons lasted over a year and a half, and they were moved onto Zoom. "They say everything happens for a reason," Claflin said, explaining that those virtual lessons helped the cast bond as a band.

To get into the role of Billy, the actor also told the publication that he studied the White Denim's lead singer James Petralli's voice, which he called "f*cking incredible."

"I don't do a very good impression of him at all. But that was sort of my guide," Claflin said. "And then I got more confident with it and started playing around with my own style."

3 Is Suki Waterhouse Really Singing in "Daisy Jones & the Six?"

Waterhouse plays The Six's keyboardist and backup singer Karen Sirko. In an interview with Us Weekly, Waterhouse revealed she didn't know how to play the keyboard prior to being cast on the show, but she received lessons. "We're all really learning these instruments and learning how to play these songs like we could perform them properly as a group," Waterhouse said while filming the show in 2021. "Some of us have played our instruments for a long time, and some of us haven't. I played the piano from scratch."

The star also does her own vocals since she's a singer in real life as well. After years of primarily focusing on acting and modelling, Waterhouse kicked off her music career in 2016 with her single "Brutally," and she's dropped a number of other tracks ever since. In May 2022, she came out with her debut album, "I Can't Let Go," and six months later, she released her first EP, "Milk Teeth." It's also worth noting Waterhouse rang in 2023 by embarking on her "Coolest Place In The World" tour.

4 Is Will Harrison Really Singing in "Daisy Jones & the Six?"

While Daisy and Billy are the band's main vocalists, Harrison plays The Six's lead guitarist Graham Dunne. In an interview with EW, Harrison said he's played guitar since he was 10 years old, but never got any proper training until being cast on the show. "It was awesome to work on this because there was such focus on technique and learning new things and unlearning bad habits," he said about his formal guitar lessons.

The actor also revealed he prepared for his role as Graham by watching performances of guitarists from the '70s. "Blake Mills, who wrote the guitar parts, did a fantastic job of pulling from so many players of that era because he understands that very well," he said. "So, it was laid out there for me to pull from as we went through it."

5 Is Josh Whitehouse Really Singing in "Daisy Jones & the Six?"

In "Daisy Jones & The Six," Whitehouse plays The Six's bassist Eddie Roundtree. Whitehouse told W Magazine that he feels attached to his character because music has always been a huge part of his life. "It felt like I didn't have to do as much backstory prep as I normally would," he said. "I've been living Eddie for my whole life, in a way."

The star has been playing guitar since he was 11 years old and in 2011, he became the lead singer and guitarist of the band More Like Trees, so if you ever see Eddie singing on the show, know that's really Whitehouse's voice. Although he already had the singing experience down, Whitehouse did have to learn how to play the bass to portray Eddie.

6 Is Sebastian Chacon Really Singing in "Daisy Jones & the Six?"

Yes, Chacon is also a musician in real life. In an interview with Flaunt Magazine, Chacon told the publication his parents "immersed" him in music since he was a kid. "I've played the piano for as long as I can remember and played the drums since I was in middle school," he said. "My mother and I would sing constantly, and there would always be music playing in the house."

The actor also spoke about his experience getting into his role as the band's drummer Warren Rojas. "Playing the drums, more than most other instruments, is about building muscle and speed and fluidity, which doesn't come easy," he said. "Learning a song as a drummer isn't really a process of learning all the notes, it's more about getting it into your body. Getting the groove to click. Admittedly, this quarantine has afforded me plenty of time to do just that."
