You'd think some celebrity kids would be in awe of having two famous actors for parents, but not Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck's children. The former couple, who divorced after 10 years of marriage in June 2015, share three children together: 17-year-old Violet, 13-year-old Seraphina, and 10-year-old Samuel. And according to Garner, they're not big fans of her onscreen projects, unlike their dad's.
In her May cover story with Allure, Garner explained, "They don't mind watching their dad, but they kind of want me to be their mum," after revealing that her kids don't love watching her movies. She added, "They don't want to see me upset and women cry more in what we do. And they don't really want to see me in a romantic thing." So that likely rules out Garner's films like 2004's "13 Going on 30," 2009's "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past," and 2010's "Valentine's Day."
Still, Garner noted that she's lenient of her kids, saying, "I have a lot of faith in my kids." "I don't love every behaviour all the time, always," she added. "[But] it's gnarly growing up."
Though Garner's kids may not be big fans of her filmography or rom-com rolodex, the actor still raved about the impact of her 2004 classic, which she starred in alongside Judy Greer, in a recent interview with POPSUGAR, calling "13 Going on 30" "one of the happiest things" in her life. "Something has happened where all the kids who were 13 are now 30. All you guys have put the movie back in the zeitgeist, and it's so sweet to us," she said.
The actor's most recent onscreen project, Apple TV+'s "The Last Thing He Told Me" series, has kept her busy as of late. This comes after she starred in the third season of "Party Down" earlier this year and Netflix's "The Adam Project" in 2022. On the flip side, Garner's ex-husband — who's now married to Jennifer Lopez and stepdad to her two kids — recently starred in and produced his blockbuster movie "Air." Wonder if his kids are fans of that movie, which is decidedly sans romance?
