Black Cindy is met with a major decision when it comes down to facing charges as the leader of the riots or turning on her girl, Taystee. Ultimately, she thinks of the daughter she left behind and betrays her friend. Ridden with guilt for lying under oath and making Taystee the scapegoat, Cindy develops an ulcer.
To keep herself distracted, she adopts the stage name Tova and joins Flaca as host of the prison radio show, Flava. Together, they provide funny commentary on prison happenings and offer up some sweet sass to fellow inmates that write in to the show. They're basically prison Howard Sterns.
Cindy later has to face the truth when she's forced to appear in court and testify before Taystee, fracturing their relationship, possibly for good.
