Taking place across a span of 20 years, Rubyfruit Jungle tells the story of Molly Bolt as she struggles to find her own identity and face the realities of being a lesbian. Adopted by a poor family at a young age, Molly has a difficult family life but is determined to excel academically. That determination continues into adulthood, as she continues to explore her sexuality and challenge stereotypes.
