The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Is Coming Back For Season 4 — Here's What We Know

The cast is expanding significantly with a number of new members for season four, although the details of most of these characters — even names — are being kept under wraps. In April, Deadline reported that Reid Scott and Gideon Glick will appear in multi-episode arcs and later shared the news that Brosnahan's real-life husband, Jason Ralph, will also have a role. As recently as June, more casting news came down the pipeline, with word that Jackie Hoffman and Allison Guinn will both have recurring roles in the new season.
The biggest news for fans of Amy Sherman-Palladino's shows, though, is that Milo Ventimiglia is reuniting with his former Gilmore Girls showrunner in a guest role that — you guessed it — is still a mystery. The reunion has been in the making for years. Way back in 2018, during a reunion interview with Variety, Sherman-Palladino revealed her intention to bring Ventimiglia to Maisel: "It's got to be the right part. It can't be just a cameo. It's got to have some meat to it. And it's also got to be a time when he can shave and cut his hair into a 1950s-period look. But the reuniting will definitely happen."
And Ventimiglia isn't the only Gilmore Girls alum that will be joining the show this season. Kelly Bishop, who's best known for her role as matriarch Emily Gilmore, was confirmed to be joining the Maisel cast in an official Instagram post on 29 June. Though we don't yet know who exactly Bishop will be playing, it's clear that her Maisel character shares the same impeccable fashion sense and no-nonsense side-eye as Emily Gilmore.
In October 2020, Sherman-Palladino also confirmed that one existing guest star will be getting more screen time in season four: Luke Kirby as Lenny Bruce. "We never intended for Lenny to be as important as he is," Sherman-Palladino explained from the Woodstock Film Festival, as reported by TVLine. "He's only been in [a couple] episodes a season. It's weird because he's such a presence. He's going to be in a little bit more [in season four], which is great."
