Released four years before Inception, director Christopher Nolan explores magic and the unknown in The Prestige. Set in London in the 1880s, partner magicians Alfred Borden (Christian Bale) and Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) are struck by the tragic death of an assistant during one of their shows. When Borden performs the ultimate magic trick, teleportation, Angier goes mad trying to discover his secret, testing the limits of reality and the relationships around him to become a master of his craft.
