June Hur's latest historical mystery, The Red Palace, follows a young woman named Hyeon in 1758 Joseon (Korea). Hyeon is an illegitimate daughter, which means there are precious few opportunities available for her in the capital city. But thanks to her hard work and bright mind, she has the chance to earn her father's approval if only she can learn how to navigate all of the backstabbing and manipulations that are a part of life at court. Just as she's beginning to get her bearings, four women are murdered in one night, and all eyes are on her best friend. Now Hyeon may be the only person who can clear his name.
