5 Iconic Star Wars Characters Who Could Appear in "Obi-Wan Kenobi"

Even though Qui-Gon Jinn is dead by the time the events of "Obi-Wan Kenobi" take place, it's possible he could still appear in the show as a force ghost in order to communicate with Obi-Wan, his former padawan. The idea is actually teased at the end of "Revenge of the Sith" when Obi-Wan talks to Yoda about going into hiding on Tatooine following the Great Jedi Purge, which is when the Jedi are hunted to near-extinction by the Empire. Yoda tells Obi-Wan that Qui-Gon "has learned the path to immortality," and as we saw in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars," Qui-Gon is able to return to the land of the living as a force ghost. Because of this, Yoda suggests Obi-Wan train himself in order to learn how to communicate with Qui-Gon.
The "Obi-Wan Kenobi" trailer hinted Obi-Wan was successful at reuniting with his old master. At the start of the video, there's a voiceover from him that says, "The fight is done. We lost." Since we don't see who Obi-Wan is talking to, and he says "We lost" while talking about the Empire defeating the Jedi, Qui-Gon could very well be the fellow Jedi he's talking to.
