SNL: John Mulaney Returns With Another Musical Sketch That Pays Homage to New York

John Mulaney hosted Saturday Night Live for the fourth time on Oct. 31, and you better believe that there was a musical sketch. Similar to his previous tuneful skits (e.g. "Lobster Diner," "Bodega Bathroom," and "Airport Sushi"), the 38-year-old comedian starred in a number that pays homage to New York. The eight-minute clip begins with Pete Davidson's character wanting to purchase a pair of underwear from a souvenir store in Times Square . . . during the pandemic. His friend (Chris Redd) and the cashier (Mulaney) advise against it because, you know, hygiene and enlist Times Square costumed characters to sing about the dangers of buying underwear from the shop. The song then becomes a hopeful melody about New York's resilience amid the pandemic, as well as a reminder to vote in the presidential election. Watch the full sketch above!
