Lizzo Wears Blue 1-Shoulder Latex Dress on James Corden

Lizzo's Baby-Blue Latex Dress Is a Fun Take on the Matrix Trend

Lizzo Wears Blue 1-Shoulder Latex Dress on James Corden

When it comes to her style, Lizzo always keeps it interesting. During an appearance on "The Late Late Show With James Corden" on Monday night, the singer gave the popular head-to-toe-leather Matrix trend a try but put her own spin on the edgy style, as she often does. While she wore a sleek latex midi dress with a puffed sleeve, the one-shoulder piece came in a soft baby-blue hue. In between chatting about her upcoming album, teasing her new song "About Damn Time," and covering BTS's "Butter," Lizzo showed off her vibrant look, which she completed with white pointed-toe booties.

Other stars have recently gotten in on the trend, like Miley Cyrus in her metallic blue bodysuit at Lollapalooza Chile and both Megan Thee Stallion and Dua Lipa's patent-leather looks in their new music video for "Sweetest Pie." Not to mention, Julia Fox is practically living in the Matrix, routinely sporting an array of latex and leather pieces. Matrix-inspired fashion also enjoyed a resurgence on the runways of New York Fashion Week, with designers like Christian Siriano, LaQuan Smith, and Coach's Stuart Vevers showcasing latex dresses and leather trench coats.

It's no surprise Lizzo is also a fan of the bold, eye-catching style with her penchant for experimentation. Just a few days ago, the singer wore a rainbow dress, leggings, and matching booties by D.Haleter to deliver her keynote speech at SXSW, as well as a fur-trimmed tweed minidress from Kim Shui. Whether it's a whimsical catsuit or a scarlet minidress covered in hundreds of rhinestones, she certainly knows how to catch attention with her fashion choices. The singer is set to guest star on "Saturday Night Live" in April, and we can't wait to see what she dreams up with her stylist Jason Rembert.

Ahead, get a closer look at Lizzo's full ensemble during her late-night appearance.
