Why Was the Victoria's Secret Show Cancelled?
The Victoria's Secret Fashion Show was cancelled in 2019 largely due to the backlash the company faced about the lack of body diversity on the runway. (The media spectacle also saw its lowest ratings ever in 2018.)
While the first-ever show in 1999 crashed the brand's website from the amount of people watching online, TV show "Victoria's Secret: Angels and Demons" revealed that behind the scenes, models were allegedly sexually harassed or assaulted. After the cancellation of the show and the resignations of Chief Marketing Officer Ed Razek and L Brands CEO Les Wexner, the company made an effort to rebrand.
