UCLA's Mindfulness Awareness Research Centre
The UCLA Mindfulness Awareness Research Centre's guided meditations were the first I ever tried — and I still find myself going back to them time and time again.
These simple meditations, led by a calming female voice, are ideal for those who are just starting to test the mindfulness waters. Sessions span from three to 12 minutes long, and they're available in both English and Spanish.
My favourite of the bunch is the 9-minute "Loving Kindness Meditation." It's an uplifting experience any time, but it's especially welcome when you're dealing with any kind of work or personal conflict — or beating yourself up over something.
