As someone who's spent my entire career working in an office, the whole WFH life always seemed like a luxury. This past year, I've been lucky enough to do my job from home, and it brings the perks of saving money on transportation and wearing my sweatpants all day. It has also brought on the challenge of needing a full-time work space in my home. I live in a small apartment and am very picky about decorating and keeping it as minimal as possible. Adding an eyesore of a desk wasn't high on my priority list. I lasted as long as I could hunched over on my laptop on the sofa and kitchen table, but within months I decided I had to give it up for my back's sake and get a proper work space.

As I started shopping, I realised my requirement list was pretty extensive. I wanted something stylish, comfortable, and not too big or too small, and, ideally, I wanted a sit-stand desk. Is that too much to ask for? Wanting one with a standing option immediately narrowed my search options, and without a doubt, the Floyd x Fully Standing Desk ($865) is the best such desk the market right now.

I have to start off by saying that the price tag is admittedly high. But as someone who invests in brands I love and quality I know will last me for years to come, it really takes the edge off clicking "buy." This isn't my first piece of Floyd furniture. I'm a long-time fan of the brand's cool aesthetic and functional designs, which is what made this such an easy choice. The brand collaborated with Fully, which is known for its popular Jarvis desk frame, which is sleek and made with easy-to-use technology.

So, is the desk worth it? After working on it for a few weeks, I can easily say it's one of the best pieces in my home. While I so dreaded purchasing a desk thinking it wouldn't be "cute," it somehow makes my space feel whole now. The size is absolutely perfect, and I must point out, it's a few inches narrower than most standing desks, which I think is a huge plus and was important to me. It doesn't feel like I have a giant office desk in my home that's overbearing, but it still offers plenty of work space. It feels comfortable, and the OLED touch handset is easy to move up and down, plus it has four presets, making it simple to adjust. Floyd's signature birchwood block is what truly makes it chic. The beautiful finish and curved edges feel modern and versatile.

The biggest benefit of this desk by far though has been the comfort level. I don't usually sit ergonomically, which has taken a toll on my back, and having the option to switch it up multiple times a day is a total game changer for my posture. Right now, I'm using it with this sit-stand stool from Ikea, which is also adjustable. The combination of the two not only looks good, but helps me sit better.

If you're working from home and need a serious upgrade, this is a great choice, especially if you're looking for something functional and stylish. The desk comes in six different options, including three wood finishes and the choice of black or white legs. Keep reading to shop some of its most popular options.
