Dennis's youngest children, fraternal twins Thomas and Zoe — whom he shares with ex-wife Kimberly Buffington — were born in November 2007 via gestational carrier. Two weeks after their birth, the twins fought for their lives after they were both given an accidental overdose of Heparin, a blood thinner. Of the medical scare, Dennis told People in 2015: "You go to a dark place. But you gotta pull yourself away from that, you gotta remain optimistic. But everything turned out okay. We had a happy ending."
