Popsugar Living Family Travel Why Disney World Is Better Than Disneyland Disney World Is Infinitely Better Than Disneyland, and Here's Why 4 November 2018 by Megan duBois Image Source: Unsplash / Amy Humphries When it comes to Disney Parks and Resorts, Walt Disney World has the upper hand over Disneyland. While I might be a little biased, as Walt Disney World is my home park and I've been an annual pass holder for more than 20 years, there really is something special about seeing Walt's vision come to life all over Orlando, Florida. Yes, Disneyland is the original and has a ton of nostalgia, and they even have better churro options, but there's just something special about Walt Disney World and seeing Walt's vision carried out in such an immersive way. So, do you want to know why Walt Disney World is better than Disneyland? Read through to see. 1 Cinderella Castle Image Source: Megan duBois While Disneyland has Sleeping Beauty Castle, Walt Disney World has Cinderella Castle, which towers over Magic Kingdom at 189 feet tall. 1 / 31 2 Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Is Better Image Source: Megan duBois While the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad attraction at Disneyland has a big show ending, Walt Disney World's is bigger and gives better views of the park. 2 / 31 3 Space Mountain With the Lights On Image Source: Megan duBois Only at Walt Disney World can you see Space Mountain with the lights on! This is because another attraction, The People Mover, goes right through Space Mountain. If you ever see Space Mountain is temporarily closed, be sure to hop on The People Mover. 3 / 31 4 A Better Space Mountain Image Source: Megan duBois Walt Disney World's Space Mountain is much better than Disneyland's, with more drops and two tracks, so more guests can experience the attraction at one time. 4 / 31 5 The People Mover Image Source: Megan duBois The views from The People Mover attraction are amazing! The journey takes you through Tomorrowland and up by the castle hub and Main Street, U.S.A. 5 / 31 6 Corn Dog Nuggets Image Source: Megan duBois Forget Corn Dog Castle at Disney California Adventure: Casey's Corner at Magic Kingdom is where the real corn dog star is at. Walt Disney World has the blessing of space, taking up a piece of land that's about the size of San Francisco. 29 / 31 30 Instagram Walls Image Source: Megan duBois Yes, both Disneyland and Walt Disney World have Instagram-famous walls, but the most famous of all belongs to Walt Disney World at the Purple Wall, along the way to Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom. 30 / 31 31 The Disney Bubble Image Source: Megan duBois What Disneyland lacks is a true Disney bubble, where you are truly taken away from the outside world for the duration of your vacation. Walt Disney World offers that to guests staying at one of their on-site resorts. 31 / 31 Family TravelWalt Disney WorldTravel TipsTravelDisney
