The past year has given us ample opportunity to give our hair the tender, loving care it was so desperately craving. We had more time to try at-home treatments and fewer reasons to style our hair, giving it a break from hot tools, bleaching, tight braids, styling products, and even excessive brushing and washing (I don't know about you, but I considered it a feat if I washed my hair once a week). This month, however, as many of us are going out and about a lot more thanks to the loosening of coronavirus restrictions here in the UK, you might once again be putting your hair through the wringer.
If that's the case and you want to keep your hair looking and feeling as healthy as it did during lockdown, you're going to need the right care and styling products in your beauty arsenal. And that's where we come in. Every month, we round up the most exciting hair launches coming to the UK, from classic brands to indie newcomers and all the creams, sprays, and conditioners in between. In July, there's a lot to look forward to, including GHD's cordless straightener, the arrival of New Zealand brand Monday Haircare to the UK, and a new hair-dryer attachment from Dyson that promises salon-quality blowouts from the comfort of your own home.

Dyson Flyaway Attachment
The Dyson Flyaway Attachment (£30) is a new attachment for the brand's Supersonic Hair Dryer that promises to give you salon-quality blowouts at home by smoothing and controlling flyaways. To do that, the attachment uses the Coanda effect — the phenomenon in which high-velocity air in round objects turns into a powerful vortex (the secret behind how jet engines work). It's the same technology used in the Dyson Airwrap, but whilst the Airwrap uses the Coanda effect to wrap the hair around a barrel, the airflow created by the Flyaway Attachment attracts and lifts longer hair to the front as a second jet pushes the shorter flyaway strands down through the longer hairs and out of sight. The result? Your hair has a glossy, uniform finish with no frizz or fuzz (you can read our full review of the attachment here). The attachment sold out in one day, but you can sign up for an alert on the Dyson website for when it's back in stock.
GHD Unplugged Cordless Hair Straightener
The latest portable hairstyling tool comes courtesy of GHD and its Unplugged Cordless Hair Straightener (£299). Cord-free and compact, the straightening iron heats up to 185 degrees and comes with a long-life lithium ion battery that provides you with 20 minutes of continuous styling time.
Monday Haircare
When Monday Haircare launched in New Zealand and Australia, six months of stock sold out in four weeks. When the brand reached America in January 2021, it sold over half a million bottles in less than two months, with seven bottles selling per minute. And now that the brand has officially launched at Tesco in the UK, we won't be surprised when the pretty pink bottles once again begin flying off the shelves in record numbers.
If you're not familiar with this Instagram-friendly brand, it sells good-looking, high-quality shampoos and conditioners at more accessible price points (they're 4 quid at Tesco!). There are four formula ranges — Smooth, Moisture, Volume, and Gentle — including the Monday Haircare Gentle Shampoo (£4), which we've already added to our digital shopping carts the morning it launched on the 19th.
Oribe Bright Blonde Essential Priming Serum
The Oribe Bright Blonde Essential Priming Serum (£40) may be spenny, but it's a product we highly recommend adding to your hair regimen if you're not a natural blonde. Inspired by skin-care serums, the multipurpose formula is a hydrator, heat protector, and brass neutraliser in one, as the violet tones and pearlised pigments in the liquid help brighten your blonde and remove any orange tones. And just like a skin-care serum, you can layer multiple other hair products on top of it without it interfering with their efficacy.
Radswan Rad Revolution Kit
When Freddie Harrel launched Radswan, her range of recyclable, multitextured synthetic wigs, she wasn't just creating premium coily wigs; she was out to build a community and encourage positive conversations around Afro hair care. This month, she's gifting her community with three amazing sets. There's the Rad Merch Kit so fans of the brand can show their love for it, The Rad Novice Kit, which is the starter kit for those trying wigs for first time, and the Radswan Rad Revolution Kit (£144), shown here, which contains everything you need to get fully acquainted with the brand. Included in the set is one of Radswan's RadShape wigs, a RadGrip, a T-shirt, a silk scarf, an eye mask, and a soap.
Color Wow Xtra Large Bombshell Volumizer
Unlike most volumising products on the market, the new Color Wow Xtra Large Bombshell Volumizer (£23) doesn't contain the salts or dry resins that can leave hair feeling dry, tangled, and brittle. Instead, the innovative formula — which comes out of the pump a frothy foam and transforms into a nonsticky liquid when you rub it in between your palms — contains flexible bamboo polymers that add fullness to your hair whilst still leaving it touchable and soft. "I love Xtra Large because it gives the hair amazing memory and hold, but also a really luxurious finish," hairstylist Dom Seeley told POPSUGAR, adding that you can still run your fingers through your hair with it in (and as someone who uses a lot of volumising sprays and mousses, I can tell you that's usually not the case). I tried the product and was shocked with the results — it looks like I had double the amount of hair, as if someone had added extensions throughout.
Molton Brown Botanical Hair Care Collection
In honour of the brand's 50th anniversary, Molton Brown goes back to its roots with a new range of shampoos and conditioners inspired by the natural hair-care products that founders Caroline Burstein and Michael Collis used to create at their salon on South Molton Street, Mayfair, London, in the 1970s. There are four ranges in the launch — Balancing, Volumising, Repairing, and Hydrating — with each one centred on a specific herb. The herbs (camomile, nettle, coriander, and fennel) are all grown hydroponically in London's underground tunnels, which means they are produced year-round in a controlled environment, using 70 percent less water than a traditional farm. There's a lot to try from the collection, but we have our eyes set on the Molton Brown Balancing Shampoo With Coriander (£20), which gently cleanses your hair and gives your scalp some necessary TLC.
Christophe Robin Limited Edition La Bretagne Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt
Christophe Robin was one of the first brands to launch a scalp scrub back in 2013, and the luxurious formula continues to be a standout in the category. For the summer, the brand has launched a limited-edition version of the scrub that features the same ingredients, just with the addition of a beautiful oceanic scent inspired by Brittany, the historic province in northwestern France that's a favourite spot of Robin himself. We might not be able to easily get across the channel this summer on holiday, but the Christophe Robin Limited Edition La Bretagne Cleansing Purifying Scrub With Sea Salt (£40) will certainly mentally transport us there, soothing and cleansing our scalp in the process.
The Hair Lab by Mark Hill Bond Building Treatment
On 19 July, The Hair Lab by Mark Hill introduces a range of products at Boots aimed at repairing the internal bonds of your hair. With the goal of leaving strands stronger, softer, shinier, and more resilient, the Bond Repair range includes shampoo, conditioner, a leave-in styling cream, and The Hair Lab by Mark Hill Bond Building Treatment (£20), which is the heavy hitter of the group. The super-concentrated cream gets applied to towel-dried hair and left on for 10 minutes before getting washed out and should be used once or twice a week depending on how damaged your hair is. Using it regularly will ensure that your hair stays in top shape regardless what you put it through.
Typology Purifying Scalp Treatment Zinc PCA 4% + Nettle Extract
Typology, the French skin-care brand that creates ingredient-led products with minimal formulas, has turned its sights on scalp care this month. The brand's Racines range includes five products meant to keep your scalp happy, healthy, and balanced. There are three serums dedicated to the scalp's specific and different needs, and two hair oils. We have our hearts set on trying the Typology Purifying Scalp Treatment Zinc PCA 4% + Nettle Extract (£27), which helps keep your scalp (and therefore your roots) from getting too greasy by regulating sebum production and introducing ingredients with antibacterial properties to keep your scalp clean.
Ouai St. Bart's Scalp & Body Scrub
Like all of us, hairstylist Jen Atkin had tropical holidays on the brain when she developed the Ouai St. Bart's Scalp & Body Scrub (£32). The formula is the same as the brand's original best-selling Scalp & Body Scrub, just with an intoxicating summer scent that features notes of dragonfruit, orange blossom, and tuberose.
Moo & Yoo Miracle Curl Cream
Edinburgh-based indie brand Moo & Yoo extends its vegan and natural hair-care range with the Moo & Yoo Miracle Curl Cream (£26). Made from marula oil, shea butter, and Icelandic moss, the silky cream helps hydrate and define curls without weighing them down.
