Billie Eilish continues to be fearless when it comes to her hair colour. On 3 Aug., the "What Was I Made For?" singer debuted deep-red roots on Instagram, which contrast perfectly with her dark hair. Eilish showcased her new look just hours before taking the stage at Lollapalooza in Chicago.

"Remember Me?" she captioned her post, in which she's looking down to give the camera a good look at her red-and-black hairstyle. In addition to showing off her roots, Eilish's snap revealed her full outfit: a Chicago Bulls jersey with an assortment of silver chains and black-rimmed sunglasses. As a whole, Eilish's look gave off the grunge vibes she's become known for, while also appearing to be a comfortable style to rock during her Lollapalooza performance.

Eilish is no stranger to experimenting with hair. In 2022, she dyed her hair completely red, and she's previously gone blonde as well. She is perhaps most known, however, for the neon-green roots she wore as her career took off in 2019. Additionally, she's tried out haircuts like the "jellyfish" haircut at the 2023 Oscars.

The young singer's style is constantly evolving, but she's also had to deal with unwanted pressures and attention from the public as she's branched out and tried new looks. In a 2022 interview with High Snobiety, Eilish discussed why she broke away from baggy clothes for a while to try brighter colours and traditionally feminine looks after the release of her "Happier Than Ever" album.

"People saw me as this 15-year-old, a kid, who wore this kind of stuff, looked this kind of way, acted this kind of way, said this kind of way. I felt like I couldn't change. That's why I went so far to the other side," she said. "I was trying to prove, 'Hey, f*ck you guys, I can do whatever I want.' Now I can look really masculine if I want, and really feminine if I want, and it's not gonna be a f*cking headline."

She went on to add that her style will never be just one thing. "It's not that you wear one thing, and that's your new style — you f*cking keep wearing a bunch of sh*t," Eilish said.
