The Fekkai Apple Cider Detox Scrub ($30) definitely worked its magic in removing excess oil, flakes, and product build-up without stripping the scalp or over-drying my roots. The physical exfoliators were quite gentle and didn't scratch or feel abrasive on my scalp. After blow-drying my hair, I noticed that my roots were lifted and had volume and my scalp felt nourished yet weightless. It felt clean and balanced but not at all stripped and dried out.
Although the immediate results were amazing, what really surprised me was that I was able to prolong washing my hair an extra day or two. Usually, by the time I reach the latter half of the second day going into third-day hair, I start to notice more oil production, dry flakes at my roots, and my scalp starts to feel irritated. With the scrub, my scalp and roots looked more presentable during my third to the fourth day. It was not overly oily or flaky, and it didn't feel irritated at all.
