According to O'Grady and Huyard's wedding website, the couple met at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, as incoming freshmen in the spring of 2015 after O'Grady's cousin Marisa set them up. Marisa grew up with Huyard at the Jersey Shore, so when she heard he and O'Grady were both attending Pepperdine, she suggested the two connect. It seemed there were immediate sparks because just a few weeks after meeting, Huyard asked O'Grady to go with him to Ireland for spring break. She accepted the offer, and that trip was the first of many they would embark on together. Throughout college, O'Grady and Huyard travelled to Southeast Asia and Iceland together, and when O'Grady moved to Atlanta for work, Huyard would visit her during the summer by picking up a marketing internship there.
In June 2021, the couple got engaged. At the time, the actor shared a close-up photo of her ring on Instagram along with the caption, "When a man's heart is full of gold, it's easy to say yes. I love you dearly. I love you best friend." They tied the knot a year later on Sept. 10, 2022, and O'Grady announced the happy news on Instagram with a picture of her and Huyard sharing a toast. "We did it 9•10•22 💒," she captioned her post.
So, what do we know about Huyard? Since his Instagram profile is private, we don't know much about him, other than the fact that he grew up in New Jersey and moved to California to study at Pepperdine University. According to his LinkedIn profile, he graduated from Pepperdine in 2019 with a bachelor's degree in advertising and is now working as a marketing programs manager at Sage. Although he isn't in the spotlight, he supports his wife by attending public events with her, like the LA premiere of "The White Lotus" in July 2021 and the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.
