Alaina Scott Says Dad Eminem Gave Her Away at Her Wedding: "He Wasn't Going to Miss That"
Eminem's daughters are all grown up! On Tuesday, Alaina Marie Scott, 30, revealed on Instagram that she tied the knot with her longtime love, Matt Moeller, in Detroit, Michigan, on 9 June. "June 9, 2023 simply one of the best days of my life🤍 in this lifetime and in the next, my soul will always find yours🌹," Alaina captioned a series of photos taken by photographer Jean Smith from her wedding day. In the pictures, Alaina is shown wearing a stunning gown by Katerina Bocci, while Moeller looks handsome in a black and white tux.
Alaina also posted a video from her special day, which shows a close-up of her emerald engagement ring. "Love, Mr & Mrs Moeller 🍾," she captioned the clip.
Alaina's younger sister, Hailie Jade, served as one of her bridesmaids. Jade is also getting ready to tie the knot soon with her longtime partner Evan McClintock.
Speaking to People, Alaina revealed that her dad had the honour of walking her down the aisle. "I had an 80-ft long black and white checkered aisle and my dad walked me down the aisle," Scott told the publication. "He wasn't going to miss that."
Alaina also revealed that she and Moeller exchanged handwritten vows in front of 125 guests at the Packard Proving Ground Historic museum. "The grounds were the foundation of the wedding and what I built my vision around," she told People.
Of having an intimate wedding, Alaina said, "Getting married is a sacred thing and we wanted to be surrounded by people who share in our daily lives. We did something super untraditional and didn't allow many plus ones. This was important to us."
She continued: "Our wedding was something out of a movie. I planned the entire thing, down to every last detail. Even customized napkins of our dogs with the phrase 'Our parents are married!' It's just very rewarding to see all your hard work come to life."
During the reception, Alaina's uncle, Nathan "Nate" Kane Mathers, performed his song "Slide on Over," which she says was "really fun." "These are once in a lifetime moments and I'm just so grateful to be loved the way I am by everyone," she added. "None of this would have been possible without my Dad. I'm beyond blessed."
Alaina and Moeller have been dating since 2014. She announced her engagement to Moeller on Instagram back in December 2021 with photos from the romantic proposal. "This moment. this life❤️ yes a hundred times over. I LOVE YOU," Scott wrote at the time.
Alaina's biological mother, Dawn Scott, is the sister of Eminem's ex-wife Kim Scott. Eminem adopted Alaina more than 20 years ago. Dawn died in 2016, per Billboard.
