As Eminem was thrust into the public eye for his talents as a rapper after the release of his debut album, "Infinite," in 1996, his personal life quickly made headlines as well. Prior to dropping the album, the "Slim Shady" singer welcomed a daughter with his high school sweetheart, Kim Scott. The couple wed in June 1999 and later split after going through plenty of public rough patches, per People. According to Rolling Stone, their divorce was finalised in March 2001, but they wed for a second time in 2006, ultimately breaking things off again that same year.

Despite the fact that Eminem and Kim were not always on good terms, that didn't stop the rapper from stepping in to help her family. In the early 2000s, Eminem adopted Kim's sister, Dawn Scott's, daughter while Dawn struggled with drug use. Dawn later died in 2016 of a suspected drug overdose, per People.

During one of their breaks, Kim welcomed a baby with her boyfriend, Eric Hartter. After Kim and Eminem rekindled their romance, the musician legally adopted their child in 2005. Hartter died in 2019.

Eminem is equally proud of all three of his children. "When I think about my accomplishments, like, that's probably the thing that I'm the most proud of, you know, is that — is being able to raise kids," he said during a 2020 appearance on "Hotboxin' With Mike Tyson."
