Fresh from performing at the 2023 Brits, wearing an array of show-stopping outfits might we add, Lizzo is on a tour of London. And one of her stops was to Hits Radio UK to catch up with presenter Sam Thompson. You might be shocked to hear the two are actually old "Made in Chelsea" costars from back in the a day. Yes, Lizzo appeared on the reality show back in 2014 and has revealed some of the filming secrets she uncovered while on an episode.

Nine years ago, the cast headed to New York to film a special summer series, "Made in Chelsea: NYC" and the "Juice" singer performed an intimate gig for Jaime Laing and co. While Thompson was there, he was yet to become a main cast member and was hovering at the back of the Lizzo show as an extra. And so the two reminisced over the throwback set.

"It was the morning time in a club that was supposed to be nighttime," Lizzo reveals. "Is Made in Chelsea about to come after me? It was the morning but it was supposed to be the club at night and it was just like everyone was drinking orange juice and like coffee! But I had tequila." Like the true professional she is, Lizzo wanted to get into the vibe. "I was like 'ain't no way I'm pretending that it's 9pm without feeling like it's 9pm." Maybe she snuck in the special-occasion hip flask she shared with Adele at the Grammys back then, too?

"It was the morning, but it was supposed to be the club at night and it was just like everyone was drinking orange juice and like coffee! But I had tequila."

Lizzo appeared on the reality show not long after releasing her first album "Lizzobangers" as she toured the US to raise her profile. With blonde hair, she performed a cover of Blondie's "Rapture" in a small New York venue with the cast in the audience, including Binky Felstead, Louise Thompson, and Oliver Proudlock. Her performance came between scenes of the trials and tribulations of the posh pals as we watched their relationship breakups, friendship drama, and romances play out on screen.

"I thought I made it so big after that, i was like 'I'm on TV'", she adds, although it was a few years later that she was really catapulted to superstardom. "Made in Chelsea" has a history of featuring up-and-coming artists on the show, some on the soundtrack and others filmed at gigs. After her spin on reality TV, Lizzo has gone on to top the charts with infectious songs like "About Damn Time" and "Good as Hell", win multiple awards including four Grammys, and become a role model for body positivity.

It's humbling to see Lizzo, who has proven her love of reality TV having also tweeted about her love of "Love Island", paid her dues as her career went on to soar. From small New York clubs to stadiums, she's about to head off on her UK tour this year. We wonder if the "Made in Chelsea" alumni have got tickets? See her performance on "Made in Chelsea" below in case you missed it at the time.
