"Love Is Blind: UK" Is Happening With Emma and Matt Willis as the Hosts
Stop everything. If you've been as obsessed with Netflix's "Love Is Blind" drama as us, then we have the news you've been waiting for. The reality dating show is coming to the UK. The streaming platform tweeted the news on 8 Feb., telling followers it had "Big news", along with a link on how to apply.
The format for the UK version is expected to be the same as its US counterpart: a group of men and women will spend 10 days dating each other in purpose-built pods where they talk through a wall and are unable to see each other. If any feel a genuine connection, then they can make a marriage proposal, after which the couple meets face to face. They then head on holiday, move in together, meet each other's families, and plan a wedding in four weeks. The series culminates with couples at the altar deciding whether to say, "I do".
While the US version is hosted by married couple Nick and Vanessa Lachey, the UK spinoff has also tapped up a famous celebrity couple to front the show. On 24 August, Netflix revealed that Emma and Matt Willis will be leading the contestants through the trials and tribulations of love. In the teaser, the couple take to the famous pods to announce their new jobs. "It's so bizarre," declares Emma as she talks to Matt through the wall. "I imagine if you're coming in her for this purpose, you are prepped and you've probably been online dating for years and you're probably so sick to death. But do you know what it's made me realise? That we haven't been on a date for nearly 20 years and I wouldn't even know where to begin."
"The Voice" host Emma and her husband Matt, member of band Busted, got married in 2008 and have three children together so are well versed in knowing what makes a marriage work. The teaser doesn't reveal the exact release date, but the caption does state it's coming in 2024.
