In the first episode, we learn that Zoey's incredible gift of hearing everyone's inner thoughts through song comes to her when an earthquake hits during her MRI. Her ability allows her to help her friends and coworkers through their problems and finally communicate with her father, Mitch, who has a muscular disease and can't speak. Season one also sees Zoey trapped in a love triangle as she develops feelings for both Max and Simon, her coworkers. In the season finale, Zoey's father passes away, while Simon and Max are still competing to win Zoey over. As for her work life, Zoey is moving up at SPRQ Point – could she be up for a promotion in season two?
