Maeve goes through a lot in the second season. She starts off getting her heart broken when Otis rejects her, but it doesn't end there. Her estranged mother, a recovering addict, reaches out and tries to reconnect, but it's not long before Maeve discovers that her mother is using again. With no other options left, Maeve reports her mother so that her half-sister doesn't have to suffer the consequences. Maeve gets a new friend and possible love interest in Isaac, but he deletes Otis's voicemail in which he admits his feelings for her. Isaac says nothing to Maeve about this, leaving her in the dark about the truth.
