Mia P. Manansala's food-fuelled cosy mystery series continues in Homicide and Halo-Halo. Lila Macapagal is unable to decide between the two men who have fallen for her, or commit to opening a new restaurant, but at least she has a new mystery to distract her from her own problems. Her small town of Shady Palms has decided to bring back the Miss Teen Shady Palms Beauty Pageant, which Lila won years ago. Her win remains a point of contention between her and her cousin, Bernadette, but when one of the judges turns up dead, they'll have to put their own issues aside to find the killer.
