While we're all still struggling to process the fact that Line of Duty's sixth series has come to an end, there is good news on the horizon. BBC has released a brand-new trailer for its upcoming thriller series, Vigil, which comes from (yup, you guessed it) the very same team behind Line of Duty (as well as The Bodyguard and The Pembrokeshire Murders). If that wasn't enough of a coincidence, the show also stars Martin Compston, alongside Doctor Foster's Suranne Jones and Game of Thrones star Rose Leslie.
Vigil follows main characters DCI Amy Silva (played by Jones) and DS Kirsten Longacre (played by Leslie), who are tasked with investigating a conspiracy surrounding the national security of Britain. The series starts off by exploring the disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler and the unfortunate death that occurred on board the submarine HMS Vigil. Having watched the trailer, we can say with absolute certainty that fans of Line of Duty are going to love it.
No release dates have been confirmed for the show as yet, but watch this space because we'll be sharing all the details as soon as they arrive. In the meantime, check out the gripping new trailer for Vigil above.
