When it comes to shopping for blazers, the boyfriend blazer is in a category of its own. Where the traditional blazer is typically used to polish and elevate an outfit, the boyfriend blazer can do so much more. Suiting is huge right now, and if you think about the boyfriend blazer and matching trousers as a modern way to do suiting, you can take that same jacket and wear it with everything else in your closet. When tossed over your favourite white t-shirt, you can look approachable yet buttoned up, and when worn over a band t-shirt, you can instantly give off a more casual vibe. I knew as soon as I unfurled the jacket from its packageing, this is exactly how I wanted to style it. The jacket is way softer than it looks onsite — and to be honest, much softer than every other blazer I own — so I wasn't sure how it would hang. But it blew my mind. It feels like a flannel on but wears like a blazer. This will definitely become my go-to Spring look. It's essentially just jeans and a t-shirt!

The second time I grabbed the blazer, it was a chilly morning, and I thought it might rain, so I knew sneakers and a hat would have to be part of the look. Paperbag pants can be tricky because they're so voluminous, but I loved how the blazer's mustard stripe and lining picked up the colour of my pants. (Also please pardon my snoozing dog in the background.)

It can be hard to pull off a lot of layering on a warm day, but this blazer is thin. It feels more like you're wearing a chambray knit than a heavy lined blazer, so I actually recommend trying it when it's warm if you want to layer. Here I tried it with an otherwise simple black dress. The blazer looked great over the dress, but I added to the belt to see how it would respond, and I was into it. I finished with a pair of Old Navy neutral-toned mules.
