Farzana Ahmed on What Being South Asian Means to Her

"With social media opening the world up, we have seen a rise in badass South Asians online, both womxn and men who are creating amazing *lewks* and fire content for a global audience. It's so important to see people who look like you in these spaces, it's truly inspiring to see across the globe. It assists as an emblem for the culture and it's astonishing to see and I'm so happy to be part of this movement. As a South Asian woman, I choose to continue working towards reclaiming the South Asian identity, creating an informed and true representation of what the modern SA womxn looks like. Creating spaces and platforms where we can showcase and celebrate our individuality is a beautiful thing. It's a true blend of our traditions, with other facets of our style within the fashion and beauty industry, the versatility is unmatched - it's a real blessing."
