Nella Rose Announced as New Host of MTV's Catfish UK

YouTuber, podcaster, and viral sensation Nella Rose is about to add another string to her bow as she has been named as the new presenter of "Catfish UK." The 24 year-old made the announcement to her 550,000 Instagram followers to an outpouring of praise as she gets set to join author Oobah Butler, 30, in the UK spin-off of the hit TV show.
One follower even hinted that she could set her sights on "Love Island" next. Replacing the former host, broadcaster Julie Adenuga, the 2022 presenters will be diving into the deception, lies, and mystery of relationships formed solely online.
When it comes to reality TV, few series have stood the test of time like "MTV's Catfish: The TV Show." Based on the 2010 film "Catfish," the series has been running for a decade and is currently presented by Nev Schulman and Kamie Crawford. With celebrity appearances including Machine Gun Kelly and Tallulah Willis , the series has aimed to help viewers navigate the troubling world of digital dating. A UK version of the show launched last year and, while a season two return date has not yet been confirmed, we are already excited to see what these dynamic new cohosts might bring.
Nella Rose has long been on our radar thanks to her hilarious memes and fashion inspiration. With a successful YouTube channel, including series Still Watching Netflix and Nella's Link Up, Rose joined forces with fellow social media stars Mariam Musa and Adeola Patronne to launch a BBC 1EXTRA podcast, called PRESSED, where the three hosts talk candidly about issues of the moment. Her star has continued to rise as she presented The Brits 2022 Red Carpet Show alongside comedian Munya Chawawa, rubbing shoulders with the who's who of the UK music scene. Plus, she recently appeared on Amelia Dimoldenberg's Chicken Shop Date. And now comes her biggest career highlight as she hits the mainstream to present the MTV show.
Butler, who was catapulted into the spotlight after his 2017 prank made fictitious restaurant The Shed at Dulwich a top-rated venue in London on TripAdviser, returns for a second series. The pair didn't know each other before the being paired together for the show, but we have no doubt they will become a comedy duo heading up a series of tears, tantrums, laughs, and love. There's certainly no catfishing with these hosts — Rose and Butler are the real deal.
