Anna Faris Back-to-School Quotes

Anna Faris's Back-to-School Morning Routine Is Hectic, and We Can Certainly Relate

WESTWOOD, CA - JULY 23: Actress Anna Faris (L) and son Jack Pratt attend the premiere of Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation's

For actress and mom Anna Faris, back-to-school means getting back into a routine. But balancing raising her 7-year-old son, Jack, with a busy work schedule can be challenging. Despite her hectic calendar, Anna has partnered with Clorox and DonorsChoose.org, a group dedicated to supplying teachers with everything they need for a classroom. We spoke with Anna about how she handles back-to-school season and why helping organisations that give back to schools is so important to her.

As someone with three educators in her family, the 42-year-old mom knows how hard it can be for teachers to get what they need for their classrooms, especially when they're forced to pay for many supplies out of pocket. "I remember my cousin, who was a teacher, always needing extra school and cleaning supplies and having to use his own money," Anna told POPSUGAR. "That's really important to me. I also understand the idea of having a clean work environment in sort of this world of chaos. It helps kids feel a little more safe and more protected."

Although she's doing everything she can to help put school supplies in teachers' hands, getting Jack up and out the door requires a little more effort.

"He's at a mischievous age," she said. "I think kids stay that way forever! I'm always saying, 'Where are your shoes? Where are your socks? Brush your teeth! Come on, we have to go, we have to go, we're going to be late.' I think he gets a little bit of a kick out of it . . . I'm sure all parents can relate to that."

Despite some chaotic mornings with her son, she tries to go a step further to make Jack's school day extra special. While Jack's a big fan of the hot lunch program, she often leaves thoughtful notes in his backpack.

"I try to let him know that I'm thinking about him," she explained. "My parents used to do that with me, and I try to just let him know that I'm thinking about him throughout the day. It kind of makes up for the guilt of somebody else preparing his lunch!"

Like most parents, although Anna tries with all her might to stay on top of her cleaning routine, sometimes life just gets in the way. "It's really is difficult to be on top of everything all the time. I am looking at my kitchen, my bathroom counter right now, and it looks like this is a sorority," she joked. Her go-to product for when she's trying to make her home shine? Clorox disinfecting wipes. "I use wipes all the time. They're easy and convenient."
