Oh, and that teachers? They are otherworldly saints who deserve million-dollar raises and a Teacher Appreciation Week that lasts for roughly the next 27 years. It was only on Day 2 with my two kids that one opted to cut her own hair, so I am and will forever be mystified at how teachers actively choose to spend their days caring for not just one or two kids, but upwards of 30 of them. Parents across Twitter have shared their humble start to this homeschooling journey, have decreed that educators should be paid the same as CEOs, and that they all deserve a hug – if only we were allowed to give them one right now. So, until we can properly thank them in person for their daily acts of service, this collection of appreciative tweets will have to suffice. Been homeschooling a 6-year old and 8-year old for one hour and 11 minutes. Teachers deserve to make a billion dollars a year. I've always appreciated how hard teaching is, but let me just say it for the record: Our educators are amazing and we should pay them more, respect them more and show gratitude every single day.— Ida Bae Wells (@nhannahjones) March 17, 2020 10 / 11 I wonder how many parents homes schooling today still think teaching is an easy profession and teachers are overpaid? Keeping in mind teachers have 30 kids per class. Teachers may be getting some sweet notes or treats or maybe even some apologies in a few weeks. 😃— Jessica Akin Hendren (@HendrenJessica) March 20, 2020 11 / 11 EducationParenting HumorParenting
