Shawn Johnson and Andrew East are expecting their second child! The pair shared a video to their YouTube channel announcing that their 1-year-old daughter, Drew, is going to be a big sister. After apologising for leaving their fans on a cliffhanger, Shawn and Andrew held up two baby socks to the camera.
Although the 28-year-old former gymnast made it a point to surprise Andrew with the good news, it turns out he'd already had a hunch his wife was expecting for a funny reason: she was cranky. "Let's start at the point where Shawn wasn't being nice to me," he said. "And I thought, 'Dang, the last time she was like this was when she was pregnant.'"
Because Drew was born via C-section, Shawn's doctor advised her to wait a year before trying. Finally, the couple got the go-ahead. "It took us a while to get pregnant the first time," Shawn said. "I didn't know how long it was going to take. I didn't know if it would be harder to get pregnant this time."
Shawn surprised Andrew with the news while he was working out. But given the fact that they had been arguing more often, it turns out Andrew wasn't all that shocked. "Ya I freakin' knew you were," he said. "I freakin' knew!"
The humans in the Johnson-East household aren't the only ones who are excited about a new bundle of joy. The family's golden retriever, Nash, also shared a sweet update with his Instagram followers. "Did ya hear da news?? I just got promoted!!" the caption read. "Can't wait to protect anoder lil hooman soon!"
