I'm sorry, but is there anything more serene than looking at (and soaking up the fragrance of) seemingly endless lavender fields? Nope? I completely agree. And there's absolutely no better place to do that than in the French region of Provence.
Stretched along the country's southern tip, Provence is home to a variety of towns — from Aix-en-Provence to Arles — as well as a variety of stunning lavender fields. It's a perfect trip to take during the lazy, hazy days of Summer, from late June through early August (lavender's peak season).
