Stay in a Casa Particular

Casa particular, which translates to "private house," is a private homestay in Cuba, which is comparable to a bed and breakfast. Home owners in Cuba can rent out rooms of their homes to visitors, and these B&B-style accommodations are great for interacting with Cubans and becoming more familiar with the culture. Plus, they typically are in ideal locations!

Casas are also generally much less expensive than hotels, often starting around 30 or 40 CUCs to 70 or 80, depending on where you are in the country. Breakfast is sometimes included in the price, too.

Having stayed in more modest inns, luxury hotels, and casa particulares during my stay in Cuba, I highly recommend casas for the prices, the comfort, and the potential for further immersing yourself in Cuban culture!
