Don't Miss Out on Cuban Night Life — Especially the Music!

Whether you're hopping out of your seat to salsa to live music in your restaurant or bar — with strangers and friends alike — breaking into an impromptu dance party on the street (highlight of my trip), or listening to the sounds of bongos, congas, and batá drums paired with claves (wooden sticks hit together to keep the beat), nighttime activities in Cuba won't disappoint.

The history of music in Cuba is layered; many genres of music we know today were influenced by what came from the country. Make sure to schedule time to experience live performances of different types of Cuban music and learn even more about where the sounds came from and how they have been woven together to form beautiful blends that are unique to Cuba — and which have found their way in to many other cultures today.
