Nature-Lovers: Explore National Parks and Biospheres

If you're a nature-lover, then Cuba is definitely the place for you. Include visits to national parks and biospheres to your bucket lists.

Cuba has six biospheres throughout the country, which are internationally recognised areas protected by the national government that promote ecotourism. The biospheres are intended to conserve landscapes and ecosystems, develop these areas for people and the economy in a sustainable way, and to support research and education.

Cuban Biospheres:

  • Cuchillas del Toa Biosphere Reserve in eastern Cuba
  • Zapata Peninsula Reserve on Cuba's southern coast
  • Buenavista Biosphere Reserve on the northern coast
  • Baconao Biosphere Reserve in southeastern Cuba
  • Guanahacabibes Peninsula Biosphere on the southwestern tip
  • Sierra del Rosario Biosphere Reserve on the eastern side of the Guaniguanico Mountain Range
