Part of the nature of the US-required people-to-people travel in Cuba is the emphasis on interactions with the Cuban people, as well as on the culture and history of the country. My biggest takeaway from my own experience is to truly embrace this aspect of your visit! Everyone I had the chance to meet was extremely(!) welcoming and open, and one of the things I loved most about travelling here was learning from, and listening to, the people we encountered.
