"New Auntie" Britney Spears Meets Lance Bass's 1-Year-Old Twins For the First Time
Britney Spears is in auntie mode. On 24 July, the singer shared that she finally met longtime friend Lance Bass's 21-month-old twins, Alexander James and Violet Betty. "I'm a new auntie for Lance's babies !!! They are absolutely gorgeous babies !!!" she tweeted alongside photos of her and husband Sam Asghari smiling from ear to ear with Bass's daughter and son. Spears and Bass took turns holding Violet and Alexander while posing for pictures in Bass's home.
Bass and husband Michael Turchin welcomed their children via surrogate in October 2021 after going through numerous failed egg-donor attempts and revealing that their surrogate previously experienced a pregnancy loss. Bass, Turchin, and their twin toddlers made their red carpet debut as a family of four at the 10th annual Gold Meets Golden event in February, looking adorable while posing together for the cameras. Bass recently told POPSUGAR that Alexander and Violet haven't listened to music from his boy band days yet, but that may change soon. "It's so weird that I have not played them any *NSYNC songs because we play music all the time," he said, adding that "Bye Bye Bye" will likely be the first track they jam out to.
As for Spears, it's been a busy year for the 41-year-old pop star: she collaborated with Will.i.am on a new single, "Mind Your Business" — her first song since 2022's "Hold Me Closer" with Elton John and second musical release since her conservatorship ended in late 2021. She's also set to drop a tell-all memoir, "The Woman in Me," this Autumn. "I worked my ass off for this book," Spears said in an Instagram video about the project. "I had a lot of therapy to get this book done, so you guys better like it. If you don't like it, that's fine, too."
