Welp, there goes Harry Styles, just casually continuing to be the king of my dreams. On Wednesday night, the "Watermelon Sugar" singer paused his Love on Tour concert in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to offer one lucky fan some dating advice, and it's exactly what I needed to hear right now as cuffing season quickly approaches. It all started when Harry scanned the crowd and spotted a poster that read "Should I text him?" in all-caps handwriting. Despite the audience's thunderous booing in response to the question, Harry seemed instantly invested and posed a worthwhile inquiry: "Is he nice to you?" he asked. A pretty apt reply from the "Treat People With Kindness" songwriter, wouldn't ya say?
"If there's any sort of games, trash, trash, trash, not for you."
Harry didn't stop there, though; he went on to declare his sage and unfiltered two cents on the matter. "In my opinion, if you should [text him], this isn't even a question," he began. "If we're wondering, 'Should I text him? Should I not text him? I can't text him too soon. Now we're thinking about double texting, and that's a whole different risky business. Now he's thumbs'ed it, so technically he's the last one to do something.' . . . It's a whole thing." Kind of wild how my future husband already knows my anxiety-ridden inner dialogue so well despite having never met before! But then came the real zinger. While adorably pacing around the stage, Harry concluded, "My personal opinion is that if there's any sort of games, trash, trash, trash, not for you." The arena instantly erupted into raucous cheers, and social media users followed soon thereafter.
If the quote sounds familiar, that's because it's a line uttered by Allie's mum in The Notebook in reference to Noah — so yes, that means Harry's watched the movie at least several times to remember it by heart. Double swoon. I may stubbornly ignore my friends when they try convincing me that my game-playing Hinge match is actually "trash", but now that Harry has publicly proclaimed the sentiment, there's a chance it'll actually stick this time. Alexa, play "Adore You" by Harry Styles on full blast, please and thank you.
