Watch Serena Williams Break Her Pregnancy News to Excited Daughter Olympia: "Are You Kidding Me?"
Serena Williams and Alexis Ohanian's 5-year-old daughter Olympia has been asking to be a big sister for some time now. While Williams revealed her second pregnancy to the world on 1 May at the 2023 Met Gala, the tennis champion broke the big news to Olympia earlier that day and shared the sweet moment in a behind-the-scenes YouTube video she posted on 23 May.
At the start of the clip, Williams shows her positive pregnancy test and precludes her daughter's reaction, saying, "Olympia does not know right now that I am pregnant, but she did call me fat and then she got really like, stressed out. She was like, 'Mummy, you're fat.' I tried not to take it personal 'cause I'm like, super into fitness, but I'm like, 'Um, am I?'"
Williams and Ohanian then sit Olympia down later in the video to share that they're expecting another little one. "Remember how you've been praying for a little sister or brother?" Williams asks her, before continuing, "Well, we went to the doctor, and it turns out I'm not getting fat. But I have a baby in my belly."
A shocked Olympia then cutely asks, "Are you kidding me?" before her dad assures her that she's going to be a big sister. Which prompts her to squeal with joy as she embraces her mum's growing belly. Williams then lifts her t-shirt up to reveal her tiny baby bump, sending Olympia running out and jumping around the room screaming with a smile.
William's pregnancy announcement to Olympia didn't come without some instructions, as Ohanian warned their daughter that she's "got a lot of work to do" to prepare for her sibling's arrival.
An expecting Williams has been excitedly sharing small tidbits of her pregnancy journey so far with baby bump photos on Instagram. Ohanian has been equally overjoyed about the couple, who wed in 2017, expanding their family. During a recent interview with "Who's Talking to Chris Wallace?" the Reddit cofounder said he and his wife don't yet know their baby's gender, but shared (via People), "I'm convinced I'm gonna be a girl dad. So even if we have, you know, 50 more kids, they're all going to be girls."
