There are very few things that beat walking around Disneyland and sipping on a cold drink while enjoying that California sunshine. And while there are so many delicious cocktails at the parks to choose from, we do have a few favourites that have remained over the years. One of them? The michelada!
This refreshing and spicy Mexican drink is typically made with beer, tomato juice, hot sauce, and Tajín, so you definitely have to be in the mood for it, but if you are, it really hits the spot on a warm afternoon. And the best part about making it at home? You can kick up your feet and enjoy not dealing with the crowds or long lines! This copycat recipe is also super simple to make, requiring only six ingredients and three easy steps. Anyone who has had a Disney michelada knows they're incomparable, so if you're missing this tangy beverage, dive into this recipe now.
This recipe is for a 16-ounce cup. If you plan on using a different size, you'll need to adjust the measurements.
- 1 bottle of Mexican beer (Pacifico, Modelo, or Corona)
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
2 shot glass Spicy V8
3 shot glasses Bloody Mary Mix
Tajin for rim
- Take one of the limes and cut into wedges. Take one wedge and trace it along the rim of the glass. You want as much fresh lime juice as possible. Set other wedges aside. Coat a plate with Tajin seasoning. Salt the lime juice glass in seasoning until there's a rim of Tajin.
- Squeeze one full lime into cup. Then, add Worcestershire sauce, Spicy V8, and Bloody Mary mix. Stir together until incorporated (a few seconds).
- Add Mexican beer. Stir. Squeeze, then add leftover lime wedges and enjoy!
