I first bought Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Body Cream (£10) on a whim, as I was intrigued by the idea of glycolic acid in a body lotion and I've had good experiences with Nip + Fab in general. It turned out to be one of my best finds ever, as it worked wonders on my keratosis pilaris. Aside from this, it's affordable, it soaks in quickly, it has a lovely grapefruit scent that's not overpowering, and it's great for prepping before fake tan as it doesn't leave any sticky residue. When I thought it was going to be discontinued, I stockpiled about 6 tubes, but lucky for me it's still on the shelves! — GC

Not only is the range of scents simply delicious, but they are long-lasting, affordable, and aesthetically beautiful. A flatmate from my university days introduced me to Estée Lauder Idealist Pore Minimising Skin Refinisher (£47) as a surprise treatment for milia, but it took a little while before I could afford to buy it for myself. It's been reformulated since then, but it still does a great job of refining the skin and aiding cell turnover, which explains how it's so effective in slowly removing those pesky white "pearls". Unlike glycolic treatments that do a similar job, it feels less harsh and never stings. Plus, it makes a great base for makeup. — GC
