In Heidi W. Durrow's debut, The Girl Who Fell From the Sky, a 10-year-old girl born from a Danish mother and a Black father is sent to live with her grandmother in a predominantly Black community, where she struggles to find a place for herself as a biracial girl and contend with the family tragedy that brought her to live with her grandmother in the first place.
