Just four months after launching her innovative Resurfacing Compound, fashion influencer and beauty entrepreneur, Tina Craig, adds a second product to her skin-care range that will be equally as interesting to skincare nerds, the U Beauty Super Smart Hydrator (£160).
The Super Smart Hydrator is a moisturising and reparative face cream that utilises the brand's proprietary SIREN molecule, which is able to only target stressed and damaged skin cells. However, instead of carrying retinyl palmitate and vitamin C into the skin like the Resurfacing Compound, Craig wanted a way to deliver hyaluronic acid to stressed and damaged skin cells in the same way. That meant her team of scientists had to go back to the drawing board and develop a new version of the SIREN molecule. It took two years and 15 different formulations to create, but they eventually ended up with the HYDRA-SIREN molecule, which carries dehydrated long-chain hyaluronic acid past the skin barrier and delivers it only to the skin cells in need of moisture. And it looks like their hard work paid off. Similar to her first launch, the Super Smart Hydrator already had a long-list of fans before it even launched (it's already available in the US but comes out here in the UK on 15 Sept.), including celebrity-favourite aesthetician Joanna Czech (who now sells it in her Texas boutique) and Billy Idol (yes, you read that correctly).
