Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation

Chanel has been busy updating and expanding its Les Beiges range this year. In May, the brand reformulated its iconic Sheer Illuminating Fluid and Bronzing Makeup Base (the latter is now the Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream Soleil Tan Bronze Universel). On 4th September, it adds the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Foundation (£41) to the Les Beiges family and we couldn't be more excited.

Available in 35 shades, the new Healthy Glow Foundation promises to be lightweight (spoiler alert: it is!) and long wearing, thanks to the addition of silica powder into the formula, which forms an invisible film on the skin that locks the foundation in place. The texture is incredibly thin — add a drop to the back of your hand and it will drip, so watch out — but in this case, it's what gives this formula its second-skin finish quality (that would also be the ultra-fine pigments, light-reflecting powders, and blurring polymers in there). What is so genius about this formula, though, is that it's incredibly buildable. Apply a couple drops and it gives you very sheer coverage, almost like a tinted moisturiser or skin tint. But add another layer or two and you can make it a true medium coverage formula — although, without masking your skin's natural luminosity and texture underneath.
